The Junior Boys Volleyball Team kicked off their season in fine form Friday at the Maurice Lapointe Classic. While Coaches Wing and Knight were off Winterfesting, substitute coach Adams had the lads primed for their first game action this year. The lads rhymed off an impressive 6-0 record in pool play and took some serious momentum into the playoff round. With 6 rookies playing regular shifts, the boys were making progress and learning the elevated pace of the game quickly and efficiently. Each player was able to step up and contribute at important junctures throughout the day.
The boys made quick work of cross town rivals and sport-etude powerhouse Galois of Garneau. This impressive win earned them the privilege of playing in the gold medal match against another sport-etude powerhouse from Louis Riel. Once again, the boys proved that they were far more prepared and worked far better as a team than their opponents.
