At the NCSSAA championship meet on Wednesday the RAVEN  swimmers far surpassed coaches expectations! They were the definition of sportsmanship and teamwork, with many older swimmers taking the time to mentor their teammates before the big races. And did they ever deliver! Tobey Luck blew our minds with his TWO OFSAA  qualifying times, both in Senior Boys 100 IM and 50 Fly! Just as impressive – Cassidy Bradley  beat the OFSAA qualifying time by a huge 3 seconds in the Junior Girls 50 Breast!! Both of these swimmers helped their relay teams place big, too: the Junior Girls Free team finished 6th in the super competitive race, while the Senior Boys team fought past sickness and fatigue to dominate their heat in the 4×50 free! Unfortunately, they fell short of the OFSAA  time and were beat out by an impressive Ashbury team. They won silver in this event, which will go nicely with their bronze finish in the 400 Medley race.   These athletes were joined by Gr. 10 Stephen Wilson who stepped up to the plate in a huge way!  Daniel Maniuk also finished 2nd in the Junior Boys 50 Fly, Abdoallah Saydam finished 5th in the Senior version, and Justin Ly finished 3rd overall in the Junior Boys 50 Free, with Stephen finishing a close 5th place and Cassidy finishing 3rd by a mere second in the girls version!! Lastly, our all-around-athlete Emily Brian pulled off an 8th place finish in the Senior Girls 100 Free! This was honestly an incredible day of swimming!
